About the project:

In the city of Cypress, California, R.D. Olson Construction was selected to transform one of PacifiCare’s major Industrial Technology centers into their new modern and high-tech offices. The new contemporary design creates a unique workspace that is both engaging and truly functional.

R.D. Olson Construction, along with the architect and interior designer, worked with PacifiCare to achieve an environment that is inviting to employees while also being flexible and efficient. Workstations are strategically grouped near project administration offices and conference rooms, expediting workflow. The use of raised access flooring, allowing all cable land equipment connections to run below the floor, further enhances the well-designed and distinctive space.

The mixture of ultra modern fixtures with exposed steel, mechanical elements and a soft multihued color scheme accent the surrounding work areas, generous lunchroom and multiple coffee and break stations nicely. A state-of-the-art HVAC system, using a pressurized floor and individual cubicle controls, leaves less visible duct work and together with the use of indirect lighting and an open-web metal truss ceiling, emphasize the vastness of the building while preserving the open and uncluttered atmosphere.

PacifiCare chose R.D. Olson Construction based on our experience and reputation for high-quality work. What used to be and ordinary office was recreated into a leading center of technology and style, all in just ten weeks.
